Section 19 – Sugar Cane

The total exhibits of a particular variety will form an exhibit Class for that variety for the purpose of judging. Exhibit Classes will be separated into Major, Minor, New, Other and Historical varieties.
Steward and Judges decision if final. They have the right to disregard any cane not specified in the schedule. Cane considered not presentable will be rejected.
Only growers supplying Tully Sugar Limited are eligible to enter.
Stool exhibit entries are a stool of Major, Minor, New or Other Variety as listed in the schedule. Stool exhibits are to be dug out of the ground and left in a natural state with the tops on. The total Stool Exhibits of a particular variety will form a Class for that variety.
THREE STICK EXHIBITS
Three Stick exhibit entries are three (3) sticks of Major, Minor, New, Other or Historical Variety as listed in the schedule. Three Stick exhibits must be cut close to the ground and left in a natural state with the tops on. The total Three Stick Exhibits of a particular variety will form a Class for that variety.
New Varieties are specific to the Northern Coastal (excluding Ingham) released in the previous three (3) years by Tully Cane Productivity Services Ltd (TCPSL), as listed in the schedule.

HEAVY & SWEET
Heavy & Sweet exhibits are 6 sticks of any approved variety supplied to the Tully Sugar Mill and excludes new varieties released in 2020. Exhibits must be cut close to the ground and the tops removed. Entries are to be delivered to SRA Limited, 216 Dallachy Road, by 3pm on the TUESDAY preceding the Show.
The Heavy & Sweet result is determined by total exhibit weight x CCS analysis taken from the Tully Sugar Mill crush sample.
